What is Epadel S600?
Epadel works by decreasing the amount of triglycerides produced in the body. The active ingredient ethyl icosapentate is a type of omega 3 fatty acid found in fish oil that is considered an antilipemic or lipid regulating agent. The medication can be used along with a low cholesterol, low fat diet, a proper exercise regime and weight loss to lower fats in the blood.

How is Epadel S600 used?
Epadel should be taken as directed by a doctor, usually 2 times per day. The capsules should be taken with a meal along with a glass of water or milk to prevent an upset stomach. Contact a doctor for the correct dosage and length of treatment as it will depend on the condition of the patient and their response to the therapy. The capsules should be swallowed whole and not split, crushed, chewed or dissolved before consuming.

Adverse effects
Epadel may cause unwanted side effects such as:

• Sore throat
• Trouble breathing
• Dizziness
• Joint pain

Contact a doctor immediately should side effects persist or worsen.

Warnings
Immediately proceed to your nearest emergency department if you suffer an allergic reaction. Symptoms usually associated with such a reaction include difficulty breathing or swallowing, chest tightness, swelling, skin rashes, and hives.

Epadel S600 is not always suitable for all patients. Always consult your health care provider prior to using this medication if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, trying to conceive, using any other medication (prescription or non-prescription), using any herbal products or supplements, or if you have any allergies or other health problems.
