What is Acto-Pred 4?
Acto-Pred containing the active ingredient methylprednisolone is considered a corticosteroid hormone with an anti-inflammatory effect. The medication works by suppressing the body’s immune system to reduce swelling and inflammation. It can be used to treat a large variety of conditions including arthritis, severe allergic reactions, asthma, Crohn’s disease, blood disorders, eye conditions, skin, kidney, intestinal or lung diseases and even some types of cancers.
How is Acto-Pred 4 used?
Acto-Pred should only be taken orally as directed by a doctor. The tablets should be taken with a meal or with a glass of milk. Contact a doctor for the correct dosage and length of treatment as it will depend on the condition being treated and the patient’s response to the therapy. Do not discontinue the medication without consulting a doctor as abruptly stopping the treatment may cause a relapse in the condition or severe withdrawal symptoms.
Adverse effects
Patients using Acto-Pred may encounter unwanted side effects such as:

Warnings
Immediately proceed to your nearest emergency department if you suffer an allergic reaction. Symptoms usually associated with such a reaction include difficulty breathing or swallowing, chest tightness, swelling, skin rashes, and hives.
Acto-Pred 4 is not always suitable for all patients.
