What is Alanase Nasal Spray?
Alanase can be used to treat symptoms of seasonal and year round allergies by preventing substances that cause inflammation from being produced. The active ingredient beclomethasone belongs to a class of drugs called corticosteroids. It can be used to treat conditions such as itching, sneezing, stuffed or runny nose. Some people may also use it to shrink nasal polyps and prevent them from returning after surgical removal.
How is Alanase Nasal Spray used?
Alanase is usually sprayed 1 to 2 times in each nostril twice daily or as directed by a doctor. Contact a doctor for the correct dosage as it will depend on the condition of the patient and their response to the treatment. Follow a doctor's directions exactly to apply the nasal spray. Prior to applying the medication, it is advised to gently blow your nose to clear the nasal passages and refrain from blowing your nose for at least 15 minutes after inhaling the prescribed dose.
Adverse effects
Alanase may cause unwanted side effects such as:

- Nausea
- Unpleasant taste or smell
- Nosebleeds
- Sneezing

- Muscle weakness

Warnings
Immediately proceed to your nearest emergency department if you suffer an allergic reaction. Symptoms usually associated with such a reaction include difficulty breathing or swallowing, chest tightness, swelling, skin rashes, and hives.
Alanase Nasal Spray is not always suitable for all patients.
