What is Apo-Nicotinic?
Apo-Nicotinic containing the active ingredient nicotinic acid is a vitamin B3 supplement used in conjunction with a proper diet to treat high cholesterol. The medication can help decrease low density lipoprotein (bad cholesterol) while increasing high density lipoprotein (good cholesterol) in the body. It can also lower a type of fat called triglycerides to help reduce the risk of heart disease. Some people may also use the tablets to treat a nicotinic acid deficiency condition called pellagra.
How is Apo-Nicotinic used?
Apo-Nicotinic is usually taken orally 2 to 3 times per day or as directed by a doctor. The medication should be taken with or after a meal along with a full glass of water. Contact a doctor for the correct dosage as it will depend on the patient’s condition and their response to the medication. The tablets should be taken whole and not crushed, split or chewed to minimize the risk of suffering side effects.
Adverse effects
