What is Apo-Prednisone?
Apo-Prednisone is classified as a corticosteroid that reduces inflammation in the body by preventing certain important substances from entering the immune system. By preventing the release of certain chemicals it decreases the immune system’s response to various diseases and reducing inflammation. It is used to treat inflammation type symptoms such as lupus, arthritis, skin conditions, allergic disorders, multiple sclerosis and various conditions that affect the kidney, lung, stomach and intestines.
How is Apo-Prednisone used?
Apo-Prednisone is usually taken orally 1 to 4 times per day or as directed by a doctor. Patients should take medication with a meal or a glass of milk to prevent an upset stomach. Dosage depends on the patient’s response to the therapy and the condition being treated, consult a doctor for the exact dosage. The tablets should not be chewed, crushed or split and should be swallowed whole. To avoid severe withdrawal symptoms, do not stop the treatment without a doctor’s consent.
Adverse effects
Patients using Apo-Prednisone may encounter side effects such as:

Warnings
The medication may lead to a failed urine test. Let your examiner know you are taking this medication before any urine tests.
Immediately proceed to your nearest emergency department if you suffer an allergic reaction. Symptoms usually associated with such a reaction include difficulty breathing or swallowing, chest tightness, swelling, skin rashes, and hives.
Apo-Prednisone is not always suitable for all patients.
