It may be used to treat allergic disorders, multiple sclerosis, asthma, lupus, skin conditions, arthritis and various symptoms that affect the lung, intestines, stomach and kidney.
How is Apo-Prednisone used?
To prevent an upset stomach, Apo-Prednisone should be taken with a meal or a glass of milk. The tablets should be taken orally with plenty of water 1 to 4 times per day and should be taken whole and not crushed, chewed or split. The correct dosage and length of treatment will depend on the patient’s condition and their response to the therapy. The recommended maximum dosage is 80mg per day. Do not discontinue the treatment without consulting a physician even if symptoms seem to have healed as abruptly stopping the medication can cause severe withdrawal symptoms.
