What is Azithral-500?
Azithral is used to stop the growth of bacteria and treat infections. The active ingredient azithromycin belongs to a class of medications called macrolide antibiotics. The tablets can be used to treat certain bacterial infections such as pneumonia, sexually transmitted diseases (STD) and bronchitis as well as infections of the throat, skin, sinuses and the ears. The medication can be used to treat certain types of bacterial infections but cannot be used to treat viral infections such as the flu or common cold.
How is Azithral-500 used?
Azithral should be taken once every 24 hours or as directed by a doctor. The medication can be taken with or without food but should be taken with plenty of fluids throughout the treatment. Contact a doctor for the correct length of treatment and dosage as it will depend on the patient's condition and their response to the therapy. Continue taking the tablets until the fully prescribed amount is complete, even if symptoms have healed, as abruptly stopping the treatment may cause a relapse in the patient's condition and allowing the bacteria to become immune to antibiotics.
