What is Beclazone Inhaler?
Beclazone Inhaler with the active ingredient beclomethasone dipropionate is considered a corticosteroid used to reduce swelling in the airways. It is a preventive inhaler used daily to prevent symptoms of asthma from developing. By opening the airways it will help with conditions such as wheezing, shortness of breath, coughing and chest tightness. Some people may also use the medication to treat other lung diseases such as bronchitis and emphysema.
How is Beclazone Inhaler used?
Beclazone Inhaler should be used as directed by your doctor, usually 3 to 4 times per day at evenly spaced intervals. Contact a doctor for the correct dosage as it will depend on the condition being treated and the patient's response to the medication. First time usage of the inhaler or if the inhaler has not been used in over 10 days, the inhaler will need to be primed before using. To prime the inhaler, simply point the nozzle away from the face and apply 2 test sprays. Exhale as much as possible, apply the spray directly into your mouth, inhale and hold your breath for 10 seconds before removing the inhaler and exhaling slowly. If you require additional does, take the second puff at least 2 minutes after the first puff.
Adverse effects
Patients using Beclazone Inhaler may encounter unwanted side effects such as:
- Dry or sore throat
- Hoarseness
- Bad taste in mouth
- Headaches
- Voice changes
- Coughing
Contact a doctor immediately should side effects persist or encounter more severe side effects such as:
- Worsening of symptoms
- Signs of infection
- Oral thrush
- Fatigue
- Vision problems
- Mental or mood changes
- Muscle weakness
Warnings
The medication can be used as a long term preventative treatment but cannot be used during an asthma attack. To prevent a sore throat or oral thrush it is recommended to rinse your mouth with water immediately after administering the spray. Keep track of the amount of sprays administered, discard and use a new inhaler after the recommended 200 doses.
Immediately proceed to your nearest emergency department if you suffer an allergic reaction. Symptoms usually associated with such a reaction include difficulty breathing or swallowing, chest tightness, swelling, skin rashes, and hives.
Beclazone Inhaler is not always suitable for all patients. Always consult your health care provider prior to using this medication if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, trying to conceive, using any other medication (prescription or non-prescription), using any herbal products or supplements, or if you have any allergies or other health problems.
The correct dosage and prescription commonly depend on the patient and the condition being treated. Do not adjust your dosage without the approval of your health care provider. This product is only for use as prescribed and instructed. |
