Uses
Beltas (Bilastine) blocks the action of histamine on H1-histamine receptors
and thus has a long acting anti-allergic effect. Beltas (Bilastine) is used
for allergic (seasonal and perennial) rhinoconjunctivitis to eliminate or
alleviate symptoms (sneezing, nasal congestion, itching of the nasal mucosa,
rhinorrhea, burning sensation and itching in the eyes, redness of the eyes,
lacrimation); for urticaria (hives) to eliminate or reduce skin itching, rash.
Dosage and Administration
Always follow your doctor`s instructions when using Beltas (Bilastine) to get
the safest and most effective results from treatment. Typical dosage is 1
tablet once a day. The tablet is taken one hour before a meal or 2 hours after
a meal. The duration of treatment depends on the course and severity of the
disease, the condition of the patient and determined individually by the
attending physician.
Side effects
The use of Beltas (Bilastine) may cause side effects in some patients
including:

Precautions
Grapefruit and other fruit juices reduce the bioavailability of Beltas
(Bilastine) by 30%, so do not drink the drug with juices.
Pregnancy and lactation: The use of Beltas (Bilastine) during pregnancy is
contraindicated due to the lack of clinical safety data. Breastfeeding should
be stopped while using Beltas (Bilastine) due to lack of data on the
penetration of bilastine into breast milk
Influence on the ability to drive vehicles, work with mechanisms: In a study
conducted to assess the effect of bilastine at a dose of 20 mg on the ability
to drive vehicles, a negative effect was not detected. However, patients
should be warned that in very rare cases dizziness, drowsiness may occur,
which in turn can affect the ability to drive vehicles or perform other
activities that require an increased concentration of attention.
