What is Betaloc CR-190?
Betaloc CR containing the active ingredient metoprolol succinate is a beta blocker that affects the heart and circulation. The medication can be used alone or along with other medications to treat angina (chest pain), hypertension (high blood pressure) and to treat and prevent heart attacks. It works by relaxing blood vessels and slowing the heart rate to improve blood flow, decrease blood pressure and strain on the heart. Treating high blood pressure can help reduce the risk of strokes, heart attacks and kidney problems.
How is Betaloc CR-190 used?
Betaloc CR is usually taken orally once per day or as directed by a doctor. The tablets should be taken with or immediately after meals along with a full glass of water. Contact a doctor for the correct dosage and length of treatment as it will depend on the patient’s condition and their response to the therapy. The controlled release tablets should be swallowed whole and not chewed, crushed, split or broken before consumption to prevent the entire amount of the drug from being released at one time.
