What is Brufen Retard?
Brufen Retard containing the active ingredient ibuprofen is considered a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID). The medication works by stopping the body’s production of certain substances that cause pain, fever and inflammation triggered by osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis. Some patients may also use the medication to relieve conditions such as headaches, toothaches, back pain, menstrual cramps or minor injury.
How is Brufen Retard used?
Brufen Retard is usually taken orally once per day in the evening or as directed by a doctor. The tablets should be taken with or just after a meal along with some fluids. Contact a doctor for the correct dosage as it will depend on the patient’s condition and their response to the medication. The tablets should be swallowed whole and not cut, crushed or chewed. Do not discontinue the medication without consulting a doctor as it may take several days and even weeks before the full effects of the medication is felt.

Warnings
Immediately proceed to your nearest emergency department if you suffer an allergic reaction. Symptoms usually associated with such a reaction include difficulty breathing or swallowing, chest tightness, swelling, skin rashes, and hives.
Brufen Retard is not always suitable for all patients.
