What is Budenase AQ Nasal Spray?
Budenase AQ Nasal Spray is a corticosteroid that prevents inflammation in the lungs and airways. By preventing chemicals that cause the immune system to react, it can reduce the allergic reactions in the airways and allow easier air flow to and from the lungs. It is used to treat asthma, Crohn's disease and season and year round allergy symptoms (e.g. stuffy nose, runny nose, itchy eyes, watery eyes and sneezing).
How is Budenase AQ Nasal Spray?
Budenase AQ Nasal Spray should be applied 1 to 2 sprays in each nostril 1 to 2 times daily. It is not recommended to take more or less than the prescribed dosage, contact a doctor for the correct dosage. It is a long term treatment preventative inhaler and should not be used in an asthma attack. To use the spray, open the cap and shake gently. Put the tip in 1 nostril, gently press down on the opposite nostril with your finger then pump the spray and inhale at the same time. Patients should avoid sneezing or blowing their nose for 15 minutes after application of the medication. First time usage or if the inhaler has not been used for 2 or more days the inhaler will need to be primed. To prime the spray simply point the spray away from the face and apply 3 pumps in the air.
