Burinex containing the active ingredient bumetanide belongs to a group of medications called loop diuretics. It is used to reduce the swelling and fluid retention caused by various medical conditions. It works by causing the kidney to get rid of unneeded water and salt from the body into urine. It is mainly used to treat patients with congestive heart failure, liver disease or kidney disorders. Some patients may also use the medication to treat high blood pressure.
How is Burinex used?
Burinex is usually taken orally 1 to 2 times daily or as directed by a doctor. The tablets can be taken with or without food but should be taken with some water. Contact a doctor for the correct dosage and length of treatment as it will depend on the patient’s condition and their response to the medication. Take the tablet at least 4 hours prior to sleeping to prevent having to wake up and urinate.
