What is Canditral?
Canditral containing the active ingredient itraconazole is considered a triazoles type of antifungal medication. The medication works by preventing unwanted substances from entering the cells that cause infection to kill fungi and clear up the infection. It can be used to treat a variety of fungal infections that invade the body including the lungs, mouth or throat, fingernails and toenails.
How is Canditral used?
Canditral is usually taken 1 to 3 times per day or as directed by a doctor. The capsules should be taken with some water along with a full meal. Contact a doctor for correct dosage as it will depend on the condition being treated and the patient’s response to the treatment. Try to take the medication at the same time each day as the medication works best when it is kept at a constant level. Do not discontinue the medication without consulting a doctor as abruptly stopping the treatment may increase the risk of further infection that is resistant to antibiotics.
