What is Ciloxan Eye Drops?
Ciloxan Eye Drops containing the active ingredient ciprofloxacin belongs to a group of antibiotics called fluoroquinolones. The medication works by fighting and killing the bacteria that cause infection. The eye drops can be used to treat bacterial infections of the eye including conjunctivitis, blepharitis and corneal ulcers.
How is Ciloxan Eye Drops used?
Ciloxan Eye Drops should be applied to the eye once every 15 minutes to once every 4 hours while awake for 7 to 14 days or as directed by a doctor. Contact a doctor for the correct dosage and length of treatment as it will depend on the condition being treated and the patient’s response to the therapy. Prior to applying the medication, clean and dry your hands thoroughly. To apply the solution, tilt the head back and pull the lower eyelid downwards to form a pocket. Gently press on the base of the bottle to release one drop into the eye and close your eyes. Keep the eyes closed for 1 to 2 minutes and press gently on the corner of the eye to stop the medication from draining away. Repeat as needed for additional drops in both eyes.
