What is Cipflox?
Cipflox containing ciprofloxacin hydrochloride is considered a fluoroquinolones type of antibiotics. The medication works by fighting, stopping the growth and killing bacteria that is causing an infection. It can be used to treat bacterial infections such as pneumonia, bronchitis, sinusitis, otitis media, conjunctivitis, gonorrhea and skin infections. Some people may also use the medication to treat or prevent anthrax if they have been exposed to anthrax germs in the air. The medication can be used to treat bacterial infections but will not work for viral infections such as the common cold or flu.
How is Cipflox used?
Cipflox is usually taken orally twice per day or as directed by a doctor. The medication can be taken with or without food but should be taken with a full glass of water. Contact a doctor for the correct dosage and length of treatment as it will depend on the condition being treated and the patient’s response to the therapy. It is recommended to swallow the tablets whole and not chewed, split or crushed before taking it as the tablets may have a bitter taste to it. Continue the medication until the fully prescribed amount is complete, even if all symptoms have disappeared, as abruptly discontinuing the medication may cause a relapse in the condition and allow the bacteria to become immune to the antibiotics.
