What is Clobetasol Cream?
Clobetasol Cream containing the active ingredient clobetasol is a topical corticosteroid mainly prescribed to treat conditions such as eczema, psoriasis, lichen planus and lupus erythematosus. It works by reducing the actions of certain chemicals in the body that cause inflammation, redness, itchy and painful skin. It cannot be used to cure the conditions but can be used to relieve the symptoms if skin conditions flare up.
How is Clobetasol Cream used?
Clobetasol Cream is usually applied topically 1 to 2 times per day unless otherwise directed by a doctor. Contact a doctor for the correct dosage and length of treatment as it will depend on the patient's condition and their response to the therapy. It is not recommended to use the medication for longer than 14 consecutive days without consulting a doctor. Prior to applying the medication, wash and dry your hands and the affected area thoroughly. Apply a thin layer of the cream and gently massage it in until it disappears. Do not wear tight clothing or cover the treated area with dressing unless your doctor has told you to do so.
