What is Cobix-100?
Cobix containing the active ingredient celecoxib belongs to a class of medications called nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAID). The medication works by reducing and blocking certain enzymes in the body that cause pain and inflammation in the body. It can be used to relieve pain, swelling, stiffness and tenderness caused by osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis and ankylosing spondylitis. Some patients may also use the drug to treat gout attacks.
How is Cobix-100 used?
Cobix is usually taken orally 1 to 2 times per day or as directed by a doctor. To decrease the risk of an upset stomach, take the medication with a glass of milk or a meal and a full glass of water. Contact a doctor for the correct dosage and length of treatment as it will depend on the condition being treated and the patient’s response to the therapy. If the patient cannot swallow the capsule whole, the contents may be opened and sprinkled into a spoonful of applesauce to make swallowing easier.
Adverse effects
Patients using Cobix may encounter unwanted side effects such as:
- Upset stomach
- Flatulence
- Headaches
- Unexplained weight gain
- Dizziness or lightheadedness
- Flu like symptoms
- Oedema
- Insomnia

Warnings
Immediately proceed to your nearest emergency department if you suffer an allergic reaction. Symptoms usually associated with such a reaction include difficulty breathing or swallowing, chest tightness, swelling, skin rashes, and hives.
Cobix-100 is not always suitable for all patients.
