What is Cynomycin 50?
Cynomycin containing the active ingredient minocycline is considered a tetracycline antibiotic type of medication. The medication works by preventing the growth and spread of the bacteria that is causing an infection. It can be used to treat a variety of conditions such as acne, pneumonia, gonorrhea, chlamydia, tick fever and infections to the urinary tract, respiratory tract, skin and genitals. It can be used to treat bacterial infections but cannot be used to treat viral infections such as the flu or common cold.
How is Cynomycin 50 used?
Cynomycin is usually taken orally 2 to 4 times per day or as directed by a doctor. The capsules should be taken on an empty stomach, at least 1 hour prior to or 2 hours after a meal along with a full glass of water. Contact a doctor for the correct dosage as it will depend on the patient’s condition and their response to the therapy. The capsules should be swallowed whole and not broken, chewed or crushed to prevent too much of the drug from being released at once. Continue taking the medication until the fully prescribed dosage is complete, even if symptoms have disappeared, as abruptly discontinuing the medication may cause the infection to return and the bacteria to become immune to the antibiotic.
