What is Dilantin?
Dilantin containing the active ingredient phenytoin is considered an anticonvulsant or antiepileptic type of medication. It works by stabilizing electrical nerve activity in the brain. The medication can be used to prevent and control certain types of seizures such as seizures associated with brain surgery, head injury or epilepsy. Some people may also use it to treat certain types of irregular heartbeats.
How is Dilantin used?
Dilantin is usually taken orally 1 to 4 times per day or as directed by a doctor. The medication can be taken with or without food but should be taken with a glass of water. Adverse effects
