What is Epadel S300?
Epadel containing the active ingredient ethyl icosapentate is a type of omega 3 fatty acid that is considered an antilipemic or lipid regulating agent. The medication works by decreasing the amount of triglycerides produced in the body. It can be used along with a low fat low cholesterol diet, a proper exercise program and weight loss to lower fats in the blood.
How is Epadel S300 used?
Epadel is usually taken orally 2 times per day or as directed by a doctor. To prevent an upset stomach, the capsules should be taken with a meal along with a glass of water or milk. Contact a doctor for the correct dosage as it will depend on the patient’s condition and their response to the therapy. Swallow the capsules whole and not dissolved, crushed, chewed or split.
Adverse effects
Patients using Epadel may encounter unwanted side effects such as:
- Joint pain
- Dizziness
- Trouble breathing
- Sore throat

Warnings
Immediately proceed to your nearest emergency department if you suffer an allergic reaction. Symptoms usually associated with such a reaction include difficulty breathing or swallowing, chest tightness, swelling, skin rashes, and hives.
Epadel S300 is not always suitable for all patients.
