What is Erlocip-100?
Erlocip-100 containing the active ingredient erlotinib is considered a tyrosine kinase inhibitor type of medication. The medication works by interfering with the protein epidermal growth factor to prevent it from activating enzymes certain cancer cells require to grow and multiply. The tablets can be used along with other medications or other types of cancer treatment to treat non small cell lung cancer and pancreatic cancer that has spread to nearby tissues or to other parts of the body.
How is Erlocip-100 used?
Erlocip-100 is generally taken orally once daily or as otherwise directed by a doctor. The medication should be taken on an empty stomach with a glass of water at least 1 hour prior to or 2 hours after a meal. Contact a doctor for the correct dosage and length of treatment as it will depend on the patient’s condition and their response to the therapy. The tablets should be swallowed whole and not broken or crushed as the medicine can be dangerous if it comes into contact with the skin.
Adverse effects
Patients using Erlocip-100 may encounter unwanted side effects such as:

- Mouth sores

Warnings
Do not use the medication within 2 hours of taking an antacid as it may prevent the absorption of the drug.
Immediately proceed to your nearest emergency department if you suffer an allergic reaction. Symptoms usually associated with such a reaction include difficulty breathing or swallowing, chest tightness, swelling, skin rashes, and hives.
Erlocip-100 is not always suitable for all patients.
