Fasigyn containing the active ingredient tinidazole is considered an anti-infective agent. The medication works by stopping the growth and killing bacteria and protozoa that can cause infection. It can be used to treat a variety of conditions such as vaginitis, gingivitis, amoebiasis and trichomoniasis. Some patients may also use the tablets to treat infections to the skin, blood, chest, lung, genitals or womb lining.
How is Fasigyn used?
Fasigyn is usually taken orally once per day or as directed by a doctor. The medication should be taken with or just after a meal along with a glass of water. Contact a doctor for the correct dosage and length of treatment as it will depend on the condition being treated and their response to the therapy. Do not discontinue the treatment before the prescribed dosage is complete as prematurely stopping the medication may cause the infection to return and become harder to treat.
