What is Fiprofort Plus?
Fiprofort Plus belongs to the family of insecticides called phenylpyrazoles. The active ingredients fipronil and s-methoprene is a fast acting, long lasting and convenient formula used in the control of chewing lice, fleas and ticks in medium sized dogs. If you notice your pet experiencing excessive scratching it might be because of an infestation that needs to be treated. The medication can be used to treat adult fleas to penetrating newly laid eggs to prevent reinfestation. The solution is also waterproof and can be used if your pet likes to go outside to play with other animals and even after taking a bath.

How is Fiprofort Plus used?
Fiprofort Plus should only be administered topically, usually once every 2 to 4 weeks depending on the type of treatment for the pet. To apply the medication, part the hair at the base of the neck between the shoulder blades of the pet until the skin is visible. Break the snap off top of the pipette and place the tip on the skin and squeeze gently on 1 or 2 spots to empty all the contents to the skin. Do not allow the treated pet to lick or rub against other animals or humans until the application site is dry.

Adverse effects
Fiprofort Plus is generally very well tolerated but may cause mild discomfort. Contact a veterinarian immediately should you notice any irregularities in the pet.

Warnings
The medication should be used on medium sized dogs between 10kg and 20kg.

Immediately proceed to the veterinarian if your pet suffers an allergic reaction. Symptoms usually associated with such a reaction include difficulty breathing or swallowing, chest tightness, swelling, skin rashes, and hives.

Fiprofort Plus is not always suitable for all animals. Always consult your veterinarian prior to using this medication if your pet is pregnant, breastfeeding, breeding, using any other medication (prescription or non-prescription), using any herbal products or supplements, or if it has any allergies or other health problems.
