What is Fiprofort Plus?
Fiprofort Plus is a monthly topical flea, tick and chewing lice treatment and preventative for extra large dogs. The active ingredients fipronil and s-methoprene belongs to a family of insecticides called phenylpyrazoles which has a 100% kill rate of adult fleas and ticks within 18 to 48 hours. It is also very effective in treating larvae and penetrating newly laid eggs to preventing reinfestation. The waterproof solution is effective even if the pet needs to be bathed or if the pet loves to go outside to play with other animals.
How is Fiprofort Plus used?
Fiprofort Plus should only be applied topically once every 2 to 4 weeks depending on the type of infection being treated. Prior to applying the solution, part the hair of the dog at the base of the neck between the shoulder blades until you can see the bare skin. To apply the medication, snap off the top and place the tip on the skin and squeeze gently to empty the entire contents to 1 or 2 spots. Do not allow the pet to lick the treated area or rub against humans or other animals until the solution has completely dried.
Adverse effects
Fiprofort Plus is generally very well tolerated but may cause mild discomfort. Contact a veterinarian immediately should you notice any irregularities in the pet.
