What is Fiprofort Plus?
Fiprofort Plus is a very effective medication used to kill adult fleas to penetrating newly laid eggs to prevent infestation. The active ingredients fipronil and s-methoprene belongs to a family of insecticides called phenylpyrazoles and is used to remove ticks, fleas and chewing lice in large sized dogs. If you notice your pet experiencing excessive scratching it may be time to try this treatment. The solution is also waterproof and will remain to be effective after taking baths or if your pet likes to go outside to play with other animals.
How is Fiprofort Plus used?
Fiprofort Plus should be applied once every 2 to 4 weeks topically depending on the type of infection the pet is suffering from. To apply the medication, part the hair of the pet at the base of the neck between the shoulder blades. Once you can see the skin, break the snap off top and place the tip on the skin and empty the entire contents on 1 or 2 spots. Do not allow the treated pet to lick or rub against other animals or humans until the application site is completely dry.
Adverse effects
Fiprofort Plus is generally very well tolerated but may cause mild discomfort. Contact a veterinarian immediately should you notice any irregularities in the pet.
Warnings
The medication should be used on large sized dogs between 20kg and 40kg.
Immediately proceed to the veterinarian if your pet suffers an allergic reaction. Symptoms usually associated with such a reaction include difficulty breathing or swallowing, chest tightness, swelling, skin rashes, and hives.
Fiprofort Plus is not always suitable for all animals. Always consult your veterinarian prior to using this medication if your pet is pregnant, breastfeeding, breeding, using any other medication (prescription or non-prescription), using any herbal products or supplements, or if it has any allergies or other health problems.
