What is Fish Mox? Fish Mox (Amoxicillin) is a broad-spectrum antibiotic that is effective against a several different pathogentic bacteria associated with marine and freshwater ornamental fish diseases. Fisx Mox has a bactericidal action on gram-positive and some gram-negative bacteria. It is used to treat bacterial infections in fish including infected eyes, pop-eye, fin or tail rot, skin ulcerations, columnaris disease, and gill disease.
How is Fish Mox used? Each packet of Fish Mox contains 30 x 250mg capsules.
One capsule per 10 gallons of water should be emptied into the fish tank, and repeated every 24 hours. Treatment will usually last for a period of 5 to 10 days. Fish Mox should be discontinued after 5 days if there is no improvement.
A partial water change should be performed before administering Fish Mox to the tank.
Warnings Fish Mox is not for human use. Do not give Fish Mox to fish intended intended to be eaten. Fish Mox is to be used for the treatment of aquarium and ornamental fish only. Keep Fish Mox out of the reach of children. Store Fish Mox in a cool dry place and keep the container tightly closed.
