What is Flucon Eye Drops?
Flucon Eye Drops containing the active ingredient fluorometholone belongs to a class of medications called corticosteroids. The medication can be used as a short term treatment to relieve inflammation, redness and irritation of the eye. It works by preventing the release of certain natural substances that cause inflammation. It is usually prescribed to treat conditions caused by allergies, injury or following eye surgery.
How is Flucon Eye Drops used?
Flucon Eye Drops is usually dropped into the eye once per hour for 24 to 48 hours or as directed by a doctor. After symptoms have been controlled it can be used 2 to 4 times per day for the next few days. Contact a doctor for the correct dosage and length of treatment as it will depend on the patient’s condition and their response to the therapy.
Prior to applying the medication wash and dry the hands thoroughly. To apply the solution, tilt the head back and pull down the lower eyelid to create a pouch. Release 1 drop into the eye and close the eye for 1 to 2 minutes. Gently press on the inside corner of the eye with a finger to prevent the drop from draining away. Repeat the process if needed for additional drops in both eyes.
