What is Foracort 400 Inhaler?
The Foracort 400 Inhaler is a combination medication containing the active ingredients budesonide and formoterol. The inhaler contains a corticosteroid to prevent substances causing inflammation to be released and a bronchodilator to help relax the muscles in the air passages and enable easier breathing. The medication is mainly prescribed to prevent asthma attacks and in the maintenance of chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases (COPD) when a single type of medicine has proven to be ineffective.
How is Foracort 400 Inhaler used?
The Foracort 400 Inhaler is usually administered twice per day unless otherwise directed by a doctor. Prior to using the inhaler, open the mouthpiece cover and shake it well. Place the mouthpiece in your mouth, breathe out deep and as you start to inhale, press on the inhaler to release the solution until your lungs are full. Hold your breath for at few seconds, remove the inhaler, breathe out and start breathing normally again. Rinse your mouth after using the medication to prevent oral thrush. Contact a doctor for the correct amount of puffs as it will depend on the patient’s condition and their response to the therapy.
