What is Frusemide Sandoz?
Frusemide Sandoz belongs to a class of medications called loop diuretics or “water pills”. The medication is used to reduce swelling and fluid retention (edema) caused by various medical problems such as heart failure, liver disease and kidney problems. It works by causing the kidneys to reduce excess salt and water by passing it through urine. Some people may also use the drug to treat hypertension (high blood pressure), which will help prevent heart attacks, strokes and kidney problems.
How is Frusemide Sandoz used?
Frusemide Sandoz is usually taken orally 1 to 2 times per day or as directed by a doctor. The medication can be taken with or without food but should be taken with a glass of water. Contact a doctor for the correct dosage and length of treatment as it will depend on the patient’s condition and their response to the therapy. It is recommended to avoid consuming the tablets within 4 hours of bedtime to prevent having to wake up during the night to urinate.
