What is Fungotek?
Fungotek containing the active ingredient terbinafine hydrocholoride is considered an antifungal type of medication. The medication works by stopping the growth and kill fungus causing infections. The tablets are used to treat fingernail and toenail infections as they are hard to treat with topical medication.
How is Fungotek used?
Fungotek is usually taken orally once per day or as directed by a doctor. The tablets can be taken with or without food but should be taken with a glass of water. Contact a doctor for the correct dosage and length of treatment as it will depend on the patient’s condition and their response to the therapy. Do not discontinue the medication without finishing the course of the prescribed medication as abruptly stopping the medication may cause the infection to return.
Adverse effects
Patients using Fungotek may cause unwanted side effects such as:

- Vomiting
- Change in appetite
- New signs of infection
- Jaundice

Warnings
Immediately proceed to your nearest emergency department if you suffer an allergic reaction. Symptoms usually associated with such a reaction include difficulty breathing or swallowing, chest tightness, swelling, skin rashes, and hives.
