The medication works by interfering with the action of abnormal protein that signals cancer cells to multiply. By blocking factor Xa, the proteins involved in the development of blood clots, the medication can be used to treat deep vein thrombosis (DVT), pulmonary embolism (PE) and to prevent the blood clots from reforming. Some patients may also use the medication to prevent strokes caused by blood clots if they have atrial fibrillation (a heart rhythm disorder) or have recently undergone knee or hip replacement surgery.

Zevert contains the active ingredient betahistine and is considered a histamine analogue type of treatment. It works by improving the blood flow in the inner ear to reduce build up pressure and fluid within the inner ear. It is used to treat attacks of vertigo, tinnitus and loss of hearing caused by Ménière's disease. Some people may also use the medication for obesity management.
