What is Gravol 50?
Gravol 50 containing the active ingredient dimenhydrinate is considered an antihistamine. The medication is used to treat and prevent vertigo, vomiting, dizziness and nausea associated with motion sickness. It works by preventing problems with body balance caused by inner ear problems such as Meniere’s disease.
How is Gravol 50 used?
Gravol 50 is usually taken 30 to 60 minutes before travel or motion activity. It can be taken every 4 to 6 hours or as needed to prevent or treat motion sickness. The tablets can be taken with or without food but should be taken with a full glass of water. Contact a doctor for the correct dosage as it will depend on the patient’s condition and their response to the medication. Children under 2 years of age should not take the medication unless directed by a doctor.
