What is Inmecin?
Inmecin is classified as a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) type of medication. The active ingredient indomethacin works by stopping the body from producing certain natural substances that cause a fever, pain and inflammation. It is mainly prescribed to treat inflammation, pain, stiffness and tenderness caused by osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis and ankylosing spondylitis. Some people may also use the medication to treat bursitis, tendinitis and gout.

How is Inmecin used?
Inmecin should be taken as prescribed by a doctor, usually 2 to 4 times per day. To prevent an upset stomach, it should be taken with some food and a glass of water or milk. Contact a doctor for the correct dosage as it will depend on the condition being treated and the patient’s response to the therapy. It is not recommended to take more than 200mg within a 24 hour period. Do not discontinue the medication without contacting a doctor as it may lead to a relapse in the condition.
