What is Januvia 100?
Januvia containing the active ingredient sitagliptin is considered a dipeptidyl peptidase 4 inhibitor type of medication. It works by increasing the amount of insulin produced by the body and reduce the amount of glucagon that is produced by the pancreas to control blood sugar levels. Controlling high blood sugar levels can help prevent kidney damage, vision problems, nerve problems, loss of limbs and sexual function problems. Proper control of diabetes can help lessen the risk of heart attacks or strokes.
How is Januvia 100 used?
Januvia is usually taken orally once per day or as directed by a doctor. The tablets can be taken with or without food but should be taken with some fluids. Contact a doctor for the correct dosage as it will depend on the patient’s condition and their response to the medication. Your doctor may request regular blood sugar level check ups as your dosage may need to be changed over time.
