What is Januvia 50?
Januvia works by reducing the amount of glucagon and increasing the amount of insulin produced by the pancreas to control blood sugar levels. The active ingredient sitagliptin is considered a dipeptidyl peptidase 4 inhibitor type of medication. Controlling high blood sugar levels can help prevent sexual function problems, loss of limbs, nerve problems, vision problems and kidney damage. Proper control of diabetes can help lessen the risk of a stroke or heart attack.
How is Januvia 50 used?
Januvia should only be taken as directed by a doctor, usually once per day. The tablets can be taken orally with or without food but should be taken with some fluids. Dosage and length of treatment will depend on the patient's condition and their response to the therapy, contact a doctor for the correct dosage. Your doctor may request regular blood sugar level check ups as dosage may need to be changed periodically.

Warnings
