What is Jardiance?
Jardiance 25mg is diabetes medicine that can help to control blood sugar levels in adults with type-2 diabetes mellitus (also called adult-onset diabetes or non insulin-dependent diabetes). Jardiance contains the active ingredient Empagliflozin, a drug of the gliflozin class.
How is Jardiance used?
Jardiance 25mg is a strip of 10 tablets. Most people start with a dosage of 10mg, but can increase to 25mg if needed.
Adverse effects
Possible side effects associated with Jardiance include:
- dehydration
- ketoacidosis
- Serious urinary tract infections
- yeast infections of the vagina or penis
- hypoglycemia (especially when combined with other blood sugar reducing medicines)
- hypercholesterolemia
Some of these can represent a serious problem. Contact your doctor immediately if you notice any of these or an allergic reaction to Empagliflozin.
Warnings
Jardiance is not for type-1 (insulin-dependant diabetes), it is only indicated in the treatment of type-2 diabetes (adult-onset diabetes or non insulin-dependent diabetes).
Tell your doctor are pregnant, trying to become pregnant or breastfeeding before taking Jardiance.
Patients with kidney problems, liver problems, pancreatic problems or a history of urinary tract infections should use Jardiance with caution and only with proper medical supervision.
