What is Lamitor DT-25?
Lamitor works by stabilizing abnormal electrical activity on the brain to maintain mental balance. The active ingredient lamotrigine belongs to a class of medications called anti-epileptics. The tablets can be used alone or along with other types of medication to treat seizures in patients suffering from Lennox-Gastaut syndrome or epilepsy. Some patients may also use the medication to increase the time between episodes of mania, bipolar disorder or depression.
How is Lamitor DT-25 used?
Lamitor should be used as directed by a doctor, usually 1 to 2 times per day. The dispersible tablets can be chewed, swallowed whole or dispersed in 1 teaspoon of liquids for 1 minute before consuming. Contact a doctor for the correct length of treatment and dosage as it will depend on the condition being treated and the patient's response to the treatment. Do not discontinue the medication without consulting a doctor as abruptly discontinuing the medication may cause a return of the seizures or suffer from severe withdrawal symptoms.
