What is Lanoxin-250?
Lanoxin containing the active ingredient digoxin belongs to a class of medications called cardiac glycosides. The medication is used to regulate your heartbeats and strengthen the force of the heartbeats. It can be used alone or along with other medication to treat heart failure and atrial fibrillation. Treating heart conditions and strengthening the heart can help decrease reduce the risk of heart attacks or strokes.
How is Lanoxin-250 used?
Lanoxin is usually taken orally once daily or as directed by a doctor. The tablets can be taken with or without food but should be taken with a full glass of water. Try to take the medication at least 2 hours prior to or after consuming high fiber food products as they may hinder the absorption of the drug.
