What is Lanzol Relief?
Lanzol Relief (Lansoprazole) is classified as a proton pump inhibitor (PPI). It works by limiting the amount of acid produced in the stomach to prevent conditions such as stomach and intestinal ulcers or assist in the healing process. It can also be used to treat gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), preventing backwards flow of the acid from the stomach to prevent heartburn and injury to the esophagus.
How is Lanzol Relief used?
Lanzol Relief is usually taken orally with plenty of water but should be taken 30 minutes prior to any meal. Consult a doctor for the correct dosage as it will depend on the patient's condition and their reaction to the medication. The capsules should be taken whole and not cut, crushed or chewed to ensure the medication is released evenly. The medication should not be stopped without contacting a doctor as abruptly stopping the treatment may cause a relapse in the condition or severe withdrawal symptoms.
