What is Nootropil?
Nootropil containing the active ingredient piracetam belongs to a family of cognition enhancing medication called nootropics. It is used in the treatment of vertigo and events associated with ageing such as memory loss as well as lack of concentration. Some people may also use the medication to treat cortical myoclonus, a condition that causes uncontrollable twitching or jerking of the muscles.

How is Nootropil used?
Nootropil should be taken orally 1 to 3 times per day or as direct by a doctor. The tablets should be taken with some food along with plenty of water. Contact a doctor for the correct dosage as it will depend on the patient’s condition and their response to the therapy. Do not break or chew the tablet as the medication has a bitter taste.

Adverse effects
Patients using Nootropil may encounter unwanted side effects such as:

• Increase in weight
• Nervousness
• Fatigue
• Mental or mood changes
• Weakness
• Insomnia
• Hallucinations

Contact a doctor immediately should side effects persist.

Warnings
Immediately proceed to your nearest emergency department if you suffer an allergic reaction. Symptoms usually associated with such a reaction include difficulty breathing or swallowing, chest tightness, swelling, skin rashes, and hives.

Nootropil is not always suitable for all patients. Always consult your health care provider prior to using this medication if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, trying to conceive, using any other medication (prescription or non-prescription), using any herbal products or supplements, or if you have any allergies or other health problems.
