What are Otibact Ear Drops?
Otibact Ear Drops (Enrofloxacin/Silver Sulfadiazine) is prescribed to treat ear infections affecting dogs or cats that are caused by bacteria or fungus. It operates by slowing or stopping the reproduction of bacteria cells making it easier for the immune system to destroy or eliminate the infection. Your veterinarian may also recommend its use for the treatment of other unlisted conditions.
How is Otibact Ear Drops used?
Otibact Ear Drops (Enrofloxacin/Silver Sulfadiazine) should always be used according to your veterinarian's instructions to get the most effective results from treatment. One or two daily administrations are normally recommended for a cycle of medication lasting one or two weeks, but your individual dosage and frequency of administration will depend on your dog's age, health condition, and the severity of its symptoms. Before each administration it is suggested to clear the ear of debris, wax, and buildup using a saline cleanser. Hold the ear open, apply a few drops into the dog's ear, and gently massage the area below the ear to work the solution into the ear canal. Allow your dog to shake to remove any excess medication. Never stop administering the medication before being told to do so, even if your dog's symptoms seem to have disappeared, as the infection may not be gone and can return stronger or more resistant to treatment.
