What is Panoramis?
Panoramis (Spinosad / Milbemycin Oxime) is a combination worm treatment and flea control treatment for dogs. It helps to remove parasitic worms and killing fleas. The removal of fleas can also help in cases of flea allergy dermatitis. Heartworm disease can also be prevented by taking Panoramis. When Panoramis is used as a dewormer, it treats whipworm (trichuris vulpis), hookworm (ancylostoma caninum) and roundworm (Toxocara canis).
Heartworm can be transmitted to dogs via mosquito bites and in many cases symptoms are not evident until the disease has become serious. Panoramis can be used as a preventative treatment. Taken regularly, it can help prevent dogs from developing heartworm disease.
Spinosad is an insecticide that targets the nicotinic acetylcholine receptors of the insects. This causes tremors, motor neuron disruption and hyperexcitation of the fleas, eventually killing them.
Milbemycin Oxime is a broad-spectrum antiparasitic that exhibits exhibits anthelmintic properties. It targets the muscular and nerve cells of the parasites, and affects cell permeability , paralyzing and killing the parasites.
How is Panoramis used?
Panoramis (Spinosad / Milbemycin Oxime) chewable tablets are offered in five different strengths, and the recommended dosage for your dog will be determined by the body weight of your dog. It is advised to administer the tablets together with food, as this will help make sure that it works effectively. Your dog may need to be tested for heartworm prior to treatment.
Adverse effects
Panoramis is well tolerated by most dogs. In some cases dogs taking Spinosad and Milbemycin Oxime may suffer from minor side effects including:
- Tiredness
- Dermatitis
- Itchiness
- Redness of the skin
- Reduced appetite

Panoramis is an internal treatment for fleas. Dogs may be bathed and washed as usual without any negative impact on the effectiveness of the medicine.
