What is Panoramis?
Panoramis is a tasty meat flavored tablet given to pets for its preventative and treatment of whipworms, roundworms, hookworms, heartworms, fleas and flea allergy dermatitis. The active ingredients spinosad and milbemycin oxime is considered a broad spectrum parasite control type of medication. The fast acting, long lasting medication starts working within 30 minutes of consumption and will continue to be active in the pet for as long as 1 month. The chewable tablets are perfect for pet owners who dislike the mess and inconvenience caused by applying topical solutions.
How is Panoramis used?
Panoramis should be given orally to the pet one tablet once per month or as directed by a doctor. The chewable tablets can be given directly to the pet just before a meal or placed in their food for self consumption. Watch the dog for several minutes following administration to ensure the entire dose is consumed, re-dose as soon as possible with the full dose if the entire dose is not consumed. Contact a veterinarian for the correct dosage and length of treatment as it will depend on the dog’s weight, condition and their response to the therapy. The tablets are recommended for dogs weighing between 9.1kg and 18kg.
Adverse effects
Panoramis may cause unwanted side effects such as:
- Decreased appetite
- Pruritis
- Diarrhea
- Lethargy
- Vomiting
Contact a veterinarian immediately should side effects persist or worsen.
Warnings
Immediately proceed to the veterinarian if your pet suffers an allergic reaction. Symptoms usually associated with such a reaction include difficulty breathing or swallowing, chest tightness, swelling, skin rashes, and hives.
Panoramis is not always suitable for all animals. Always consult your veterinarian prior to using this medication if your pet is pregnant, breastfeeding, breeding, using any other medication (prescription or non-prescription), using any herbal products or supplements, or if it has any allergies or other health problems.
