What is Persol 2.5% Gel?
Persol Gel containing the active ingredient benzyl peroxide is considered a keratolytic type of medication. The gel works by killing bacteria and reducing inflammation which will allow the top layer of the skin to break down and shed. This will help break down blackheads and whiteheads as well as unplugging blocked pores and is mainly used in the treatment of acne.
How is Persol 2.5% Gel used?
Persol Gel is generally used topically 1 to 2 times per day or as directed by a doctor. Contact a doctor for the correct dosage and length of treatment as it will depend on the patient's condition and their response to the therapy. It is advised to clean your hands and the affected area with a mild cleanser and patted dry with a towel prior to applying the gel. Spread a thin layer of the medication onto the affected area and gently rub it in until it disappears. Wash your hands immediately after applying the gel.
Adverse effects
Patients using Persol Gel may encounter unwanted side effects such as:
- Redness, itching, burning or stinging at application site
- Dry or peeling skin
- Allergic contact dermatitis
- Feeling of warmth

Warnings
