What is Pilocar 2% Eye Drops?
Pilocar 2% Eye Drops containing the active ingredient pilocarpine nitrate is considered a miotic type of medication. The medication causes the pupil of the eye to shrink and decrease the amount of fluids in the eye which can reduce eye pressure. It can be used to treat glaucoma, ocular hypertension and other eye conditions.
How is Pilocar 2% Eye Drops used?
Pilocar 2% Eye Drops should be dropped into the eye 2 to 4 times per day or as directed by a doctor. Thoroughly wash your hands with soap and water prior to applying the solution. Tilt the head back and pull down the lower lid of the eye with a finger to form a pocket. Hold the dropper as close to the eye as possible without touching it and gently squeeze the dropper so a single drop falls into the pocket. Close the eye and tilt the head down as though looking at the floor for 2 to 3 minutes. Place a finger on the inside corner of the eye and apply gentle pressure to prevent the drop from draining away. Repeat as necessary for additional doses in both eyes.
