What is Plagril?
Plagril containing the active ingredient clopidogrel bisulfate belongs to a class of medications called antiplatelets. The medication works by preventing platelets from collecting and forming harmful blood clots. It can be used alone or along with other medications to prevent serious and even life threatening problems with the heart in patients with a history of strokes, heart attacks or severe chest pain.
How is Plagril used?
Plagril is usually taken orally once per day or as directed by a doctor. The medication can be taken with or without food but should be taken with a drink of water. Contact a doctor for the correct dosage and length of treatment as it will depend on the patient’s condition and their response to the therapy. As the drug will prevent blood from clotting, it may make it easier for you to bleed from a minor injury. Seek emergency medical attention if you have bleeding that will not stop.
Adverse effects
Patients using Plagril may encounter unwanted side effects such as:

Warnings
