The medication can help reduce symptoms of menopause such as hot flashes and vaginal dryness, burning or irritation. Postmenopausal women may also use it to prevent bone loss (osteoporosis) or as part of cancer treatment.
How is Premarin used?
Premarin is usually taken orally once daily unless otherwise directed by a doctor. Take the tablets with or just after a meal with some water to prevent an upset stomach. Contact a doctor for the correct dosage and cycle of treatment as it will depend on the patient's condition and their response to the therapy. The doctor may request regular physical exams or self examinations for breast lumps while on the medication.
