What is Premarin Vaginal Cream?
Premarin Vaginal Cream containing the active ingredient conjugated estrogen is a form of the naturally occurring female sex hormone estrogen. It should be used by postmenopausal women who have had a hysterectomy as a form of hormone replacement therapy to maintain proper levels of estrogen in the body. The medication can be used to treat vaginal symptoms of menopause such as painful sexual intercourse, painful urination or vaginal irritation, burning and dryness.
How is Premarin Vaginal Cream used?
Premarin Vaginal Cream should be applied topically to the inside of the vagina once per day or as directed by a doctor. The cream is usually used in a cycle of 3 weeks and taking 1 week off. Contact a doctor for the correct dosage and length of treatment as it will depend on the patient’s condition and their response to the therapy. To apply the medication, fill the applicator according to the directions, insert the applicator high into the vagina and press the plunger to release the medication. Remove the applicator and clean with warm soapy water.

Patients using Premarin Vaginal Cream may encounter unwanted side effects such as:

Warnings
