It can also be used to prevent the development of flea eggs. It is a long lasting treatment, up to 1 month for killing ticks, up to 3 months of treating fleas and to help prevent their re-infestation.
How is Protektor Spot-On used?
Protektor Spot-On should be used topically as directed by a veterinarian, usually once per month. The medication works best if the dog has not been bathed for 3 days prior to or after the application of the solution. To apply the solution, part the hair between the shoulder blades so the skin is visible. Empty the contents of the container onto a single spot on the visible skin. Avoid superficial application on the pet’s hair as the medication will spread over the entire coat within 24 hours.
Adverse effects
Protektor Spot-On is generally very well tolerated. Contact a veterinarian should your pet show signs of irritation or allergic reaction.
Warnings
The medication should not be used on any puppies under 10 weeks of age.
Immediately proceed to the veterinarian if your pet suffers an allergic reaction. Symptoms usually associated with such a reaction include difficulty breathing or swallowing, chest tightness, swelling, skin rashes, and hives.
